Local food resources

Bedford Stuyvesent is rich in local food resources. There are tons of farmers markets, community gardens and other endeavors run by longtime residents of Bed Stuy. I look forward to having the chance to get involved with the three community gardens located our our block as well. 

Some local resources to check out include:

• Hattie Carthan Community Market, Clifton Place at Marcy Avenue. Open Saturdays July - November from 9am - 3pm. 
• Malcolm X Farmers Market, offers produce grown at the wonderful, community-led Bed Stuy Farm. 404 Decatur St btwn Malcolm X and Patchen. Visit their website to learn more and hear when the market re-opens for the year.  Watch this video on the important work happening at the Bed Stuy Farm. Read an article printed in the Daily News.
• Fort Greene Park Greenmarket, Washington Park btw DeKalb & Willoughby. Saturdays, Year-round, 8am - 5pm.

• I heard through the grapevine that a new food coop is opening on the corner of Putnam Avenue between Grand Avenue and Downing.
