Today was our walk-through and all went smoothly. The builders are very willing to make the minor cosmetic fixes we found. We simply cannot wait to move into our new space, and start enjoying that balcony in the summer sun! We did a little bit of research about what to look for during your punch-list walk-through and we put together this checklist for ourselves. I figured I’d post it in case it’s helpful to anyone else.
Click here to download our version of the checklist.
Hope this helps!
Did you get a date for move in? Just wondering because all our stuff is moving ahead and we want to see if we will have a place to move into when we move out of our current home.
ReplyDeleteWe did not yet get a move-in date, or a closing date. We are aiming for a closing in the next 2 weeks. We gave notice to leave our current rental apartment before June 1.
ReplyDeleteOk. Thanks. Was your backyard and fence finished?
ReplyDeleteLast time we were there last week, no the backyard wasn't fenced or finished - but we're hoping they will get it all tied up before our closing date. Crossing fingers!
ReplyDeleteI was able to close this past Thursday and I'm moving this Friday. I'm going a bit crazy with all of my ToDo lists ...
ReplyDeleteI saw them working on the backyards and they're starting to look really nice. One part of the fence isn't in yet but I don't remember which one I was looking down at.
Good luck with the move and a huge congratulations on closing!
ReplyDeleteWe hope to find out if we have a closing date today (we're aiming for the week of March 16.)
You'll have to get back in touch once you move in to let us know what it's like! Thanks for the report on the fences.
Hello Neighbors:
ReplyDeleteI have schedule my walk-trough for Monday, but I don't have a closing day yet. How long did it take from the moment you did your walk-trough to the time you close? My name is Marco BTW and hopefully I'll be your neighbor in 323 1A
Hi Marco,
ReplyDeleteWill this be your final walk-through, or is this your inspection? We did our initial walk-through to create a punch-list of items that needed repair/touch ups and then a couple of weeks later when we had a closing date, we did a "final walk-through" the day before we closed to make sure everything was fixed.
Setting your closing date all depends on your bank, and whether the builder has finished your apartment yet (as the bank usually won't give a loan until everything is finished. )
Good luck Marco!
